Preschool Splash

Preschool Splash incorporates the Swimplicity® Methodology into our swim curriculum. The primary goal is safety, and to achieve this we focus on teaching the student how to quiet their bodies and minds in the water through breathing, buoyancy, and travel experiences. Propulsive movements are introduced once the appropriate level of trust and comfort in the water is reached. Strokes are introduced once breathing, balance, and aquatic alignment are attained. 30 minutes-: Cost: $40 per class 3:1 student/teacher ratio; $75 private lessons, $55 semi-private lessons.

PS 1 3+yrs PS1 is an introductory level class for children who have little to no experience in the water. In this class, they will learn to become fully comfortable around the water, with submersion, and being on their back in a float.Independent floating and safety skills are introduced. No skills required.

PS 2 3+yrs PS2 is a class for students who are water adjusted and happy to be in, around, and under the water. Here, we focus on independent swimming skills, buoyancy activities, and primary safety skills like how to roll over onto their backs for a breath, and jump in and go onto their backs. When these skills are attained, we will introduce propulsion skills and breathing consecutively over a further distance.

PS 3 4+yrs PS3 is a class for swimmers who can exchange air effortlessly on their own over a distance of at least 30+ ft while maintaining correct aquatic line (body alignment) and can backfloat independently for 30+ seconds to one minute. Here, we will be working on advanced propulsion skills like flutter kicks on back and prone positions and advanced core strength drills in preparation for introducing strokes.

PS 4 5+ PS4 is an advanced level class for swimmers who are ready to be introduced to the 4 main swimming strokes– freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. They must be able to swim while exchanging air effortlessly with correct alignment, float independently, and have the core strength and endurance to swim approximately 75 ft (25 yds.)
